Days 9-10: Wildlife Safari (Yala or Udawalawe)

Descend from the cool mountains to the warm southern plains.

  • Take a 4x4 jeep safari in Yala National Park to spot elusive leopards.
  • Alternative: Visit Udawalawe National Park if seeing massive herds of wild elephants is your priority.

Days 11-13: The Southern Coast

End your holiday relaxing by the Indian Ocean.

  • Explore the cobblestone streets of the historic Galle Dutch Fort.
  • Go whale watching in Mirissa (seasonal).
  • Relax on the golden sands of Unawatuna, Bentota, or Hikkaduwa.
